The boys were halfway through a heat-shortened two-mile race when a strong thunderstorm hit the Linden Road campus of Carman-Ainsworth High School. Students and spectators tried to wait it out in the cafeteria, but repeated bouts of thunder and lightning force delays that eventually led to the cancellation of the meet. Our next race is scheduled for Sept. 8, a Metro League jamboree at Kearsley.
The boys and girls teams both won at the Kearsley Invitational tonight. Leading the way were Jeremy and Casey, who both finished first in their races. Congrats Dragons!

The Dragons will try to continue their winning ways next Wednesday at the Cavalier Classic.
With our first meet rapidly approaching we thought we should clarify some important upcoming dates and times:
- Camp – Sunday, 8/15, 12 noon at the Middle School
- Return From Camp – 2pm Friday, 8/20
- Team Pictures – 2pm Monday, 8/23 (Practice follows)
- XC Practice – 3pm Tuesday 8/24
- Kearsley Invite – 8/25, 2:30 Bus Time, 4pm Boys, 4:30pm Girls
- XC Practice – 8/26, 8/27, 8/30, 8/31 at 8am
- Cavalier Invite – 9/1, 3:15 Bus time, 5pm Boys, 5:30pm Girls, 6pm JV
- XC Practice – 9/2, 9/3 at 3pm
- Labor Day – 9/6 XC Practice at 6:30pm
- First Day of School – 9/7, Practice after school at 2:40.
Our full season schedule will be finalized shortly, but the calendar here on the website is nearly certain.
Congrats to our Dragon State Qualifiers Jeremy, Tony, and Katrina! JD becomes the second Creek runner to take the runner-up spot!

Congratulations to Jeremy, Tony, and Katrina, who each qualified for the State Finals next week at Michigan International Speedway. The girls finished the meet in 9th and the boys finished in 5th.
